Nouvelles - Notiziario
In the year 1981 the Institut de Recherche et d’Histoire des Textes (IRHT), Paris in association with the National Library of Scotland (NLS), Edinburgh, issues in two languages, French and English, the first number of a newsletter (Nouvelles des Empreintes= Fingerprint Newsletter) containing a not yet official version of the fingerprint rules (the definitive version will be published in 1984).
In 1985 IRHT issues the second number of the newsletter in order to clarify some points which had caused problems; then the newsletter stops.
In 1994, following up the IRHT request and with the cooperation of NLS, ICCU issues the third number in Italian and English languages (Notiziario dell’Impronta=Fingerprint Newsletter). This issue, in particular, contains the definitive text in Italian, English and French of the rules for recording fingerprints from posters and other single-sheet publications.
This is the last number of the newsletter because, after having recorded fingerprints for ten years, any further help is considered no more necessary.
